Best practices to protect our beautiful Guadeloupe

Sun, trade winds and tropical rain.... Why deprive ourselves of what Nature has to offer? We chose to incorporate these assets into the design of our villa.

Blinds are installed in all rooms to facilitate air circulation. Room blinds are fitted with mosquito nets for good ventilation, without fear of insects.

Each room is equipped with a high-performance fan. The use of air conditioning is therefore not "essential"... It's up to you to judge the level of comfort you want.

Before turning on the air conditioner, ventilate the room naturally when the temperature is lowest by opening the windows and/or using the fans.

Then close the windows and blinds before turning on the air-conditioning: we recommend setting the temperature 5° below the outside temperature, but not below 26°, to avoid chills.

Depending on your heat tolerance, you can turn on the air-conditioning about 15 to 20 minutes before going to bed, then turn it off for the night by opening the blinds... which are equipped with mosquito nets (insects will leave you alone).

A rainwater tank collects 3,000 liters of water used for watering.

A double water system also supplies the toilets and washing machine.

A solar water heater lets you take a "hot shower" in cooler weather.
